Mets fans, an all-new episode is here!

After a brief hiatus, Mike and I are back with special guest Rob Piersall to speak on the passing of MMO founder Joe D, his legacy on the Mets online community, and Joe’s love for the Amazin’s. And as Joe would have wanted, we discussed the team’s current struggles with starting pitching, how concerned we should be about Max Scherzer, Brett Baty continuing to impress every day, the importance of Justin Verlander‘s debut, and much more!

What is Joe D’s legacy in the Mets community? For Mike and Rob, Joe had a profound impact on both their professional and personal lives, and his impact on the Mets community spans back almost two decades:

“I think people lose track of just how important Joe was to the Mets online community. This is a guy that back in 2005 started the blog on Myspace essentially, and then brought it over to a website. He was doing this right around the same time that MetsBlog, Amazin’ Avenue, etc. were coming along as well, so Joe was one of the “Godfathers” of making Mets content online, which grew into a huge community mainly through him. When the site posted the news on Twitter about Joe’s passing, there was just a huge outpouring of support from former writers and employees of the site that Joe took a chance on, who now have careers working in baseball. He helped so many people further their careers and become better people, and will be greatly missed for a long time.”
