Steven Matz has allowed two runs or fewer in seven straight games, which is the longest active streak among major league starters. Matz leads all rookies with seven wins, his 2.36 ERA is the second-lowest among all qualified rookies and his 50 strikeouts are the second-most among rookies, one behind Kenta Maeda. He is 4-0 this month with a 1.26 ERA.

Note: Terry Collins says Noah Syndergaard will most likely will pitch in the seventh, eighth or ninth inning on Tuesday because he only threw 33 pitches on Saturday before getting ejected. Syndergaard will make his next start Friday in Miami.
