The Mets and White Sox find themselves playing the rubber game this afternoon after the bullpen failed to hold the lead for the Amazins. The Mets were cruising for most of the game last night until the 6th inning. Steven Matz, who was dicing the lineup up until that point, allowed 3 runs and didn’t make it out of the inning. Syndergaard then pitched a solid inning, before Robles blew the game and the Mets’ bats couldn’t retake the lead.

Jacob deGrom is 13-7 with a 1.92 ERA in 29 starts at Citi Field. His 1.92 home ERA is the third-lowest in the majors since 2014 among pitchers with at least 150.0 innings, trailing only Clayton Kershaw (1.65) and Jake Arrieta (1.69).

Note: Yoenis Cespedes asked for and received the game off today. Not injury related just fatigue. He as played every game in May, batting .262 (27-103,) with 17 runs, 5 doubles, 8 homeruns, 14 RBIs, 12 walks, and 22 strikeouts.
