Jacob deGrom comes back for the Mets today, giving Mets fans a roller coaster ride that lasted about two weeks. He left his last start on May 2nd after four fantastic innings where he held the Braves scoreless with two hits, no walks and six strikeouts due to a hyperextended elbow. For the next day or so Mets fans were bracing themselves for every possible outcome: four weeks of no deGrom to no deGrom for at least a year. Then the Mets said, “Hey! It’s not so bad! He’ll make his next scheduled start”. Right before that start they moved deGrom over to the DL and brought up PJ Conlon to make his major league debut and promptly sent him back down because Jacob is ready to go.

In Jacob’s last three outings he has allowed no runs over 18.1 innings with 11 hits, five walks and 24 K’s. On the season he is 3-0 in seven games and 43.1 innings with a 1.87 ERA, 2.09 FIP, 0.992 WHIP and 207 ERA+. This will also be deGrom’s first time against the Phillies this year. Game Notes
The Mets are 29-30 all-time on Mother’s Day. New York has won four of its last five games on Mother’s Day. The Mets will wear special pink Mother’s Day jerseys and caps today. In addition, players will be able to use pink bats.
New York is 41-17 at Citizens Bank Park since 2012. The Mets out-homered the Phillies, 23-10, last year at CBP and have out-homered the Phillies, 62-26, since the beginning of 2015.
Michael Conforto has 10 career homers and 27 RBI while hitting .306 (30-98) in 32 career games vs. the Phillies. The ten homers and 27 RBI are his most vs. any team…Conforto has seven homers and 15 RBI in 20 career games at Citizens Bank Park, both are his highest total in any visiting ballpark.
