Noah Syndergaard is 2-1 over 5 starts and 32.1 innings with a 2.51 ERA while striking out 44. In his last start he allowed 4 ER over 5.2 innings while striking out 6, although that doesn’t tell the whole story. In the 4th inning he allowed 3 runs, including a 2 run homer, so a bad inning, and in the next inning the bullpen allowed a run. Teams have been running wild on Syndergaard, who has struggled with holding runners on.
Last year, Syndergaard was 1-1 against the Padres allowing 7 ER over 12.0 innings while striking out 19. It was the most amount of runs he allowed against any team last year. The Padres have the following numbers against Noah:
- Kemp 0-6
- Norris 2-6, HR
- Shields 0-2
Drew Pomeranz is 2-3 over 5 starts with a 2.48 ERA this year while pitching 29.0 innings. In his last start he allowed 1 ER over 7.0 innings rebounding from his only bad start of the season where he allowed 4 runs, 3 earned over 4.1 innings. He was traded to the Padres from the Athletics this off-season in the Alonso trade. In his career he has pitched 4.0 innings in one start against the Mets allowing 5 hits, 2 runs only 1 earned. A few Mets have seen him in his career:
- Cabrera 1-2, 2B
- Duda 0-1
- Wright 0-1, BB
- De Aza 0-1
