Every now and then I cross paths with fans who go above and beyond showing off their Mets fandom in such very unique and amazing ways. I wanted to introduce you to diehard Met fan and talented artist Joe Maracic who goes by @GrafixJoker on Twitter.

The graphic above is that of Bartolo Colon of course, which was just sent to me hot off the press.

Joe’s a very serious and talented artist who draws his inspiration from his summers in his native Croatia. His bio says that the summers along the Adriatic Sea were inspirations for many of his early works and the rocky Adriatic coast, its islands and local scenes continue to inspire him today.

He kicked off career in art at the age of four when his mother gave him a set of crayons and started out by drawing Garfield. At the age of seven he was in the U.S. and taking classes at the Roslyn School of Painting and eventually studied at the School of Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts completing his studies in 1998.

You can check out his website ILovePaint.com where you can see many examples of his unique and original art.

Joe currently teaches art classes at the Roslyn School of Painting in Roslyn, New York, but says he’s going to continue creating more great Mets graphics and artwork so that all fans can enjoy them.
