AAA: Syracuse Mets (10-20) 0 vs. Scranton Wilkes-Barre Railriders (11-19) 2 Box Score

The Syracuse Mets fell to 10-20 on Tuesday night as they were shutout by Scranton Wilkes-Barre 2-0. They accumulated just four singles and left all four stranded.

Katoh was making his Mets system debut after being claimed by the team last week.

Thomas Szapucki made his fifth start of the 2022 season for Triple-A Syracuse and he looked impressive, striking out nine in four innings of work. He now has 28 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched this season. Alvarez pitched in relief of Szapucki and he pitched well. Diaz took the loss for Syracuse, giving up two runs in 1.2 innings pitched. Those were the only runs the Railriders needed to defeat Syracuse 2-0.

AA: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (9-18) 2 vs New Hampshire Fisher Cats (12-15) 1 Box Score

Binghamton came out swinging on Tuesday night, accumulating nine hits as a team, but only squeezed out two runs. But two runs was all they needed to defeat New Hampshire 2-1. Wyatt Young, a Mets 2021 15th round draft pick, was 1-for-4 in his Double-A debut. Young had a .882 OPS in Triple-A, but the additions of Katoh and Tzu-Wei Lin bumped him down to Double-A.

Right-handed pitcher Jose Chacin made is sixth start of the 2022 season on Tuesday night for Binghamton and pitched a stellar 4 2/3 innings striking out nine. The 25-year-old has an impressive 1.53 ERA between Brooklyn and Binghamton this season.

High-A: Wilmington Blue Rocks  (14-13) 12, Brooklyn Cyclones (12-15) 5  Box Score

2021 draftees Jordan and Schwartz continue to be the driving forces of a struggling Cyclones offense.

Jesus Vargas pitching a stunning, lights-out six innings on Tuesday against Wilmington. He struck out eight over the course of six innings pitched. His outing was spoiled by the Brooklyn bullpen, however, as the they gave up a combined 12 runs. Clenney gave up three, Morris gave up six, and Hardy gave up three as Wilmington defeated Brooklyn 12-5.

Low-A: Lakeland Flying Tigers (13-14) 8 vs St. Lucie Mets  (18-10) 4  Box Score 

St. Lucie fell to Lakeland 8-4 on Tuesday night. It was the Alex Ramirez show for Low-A St. Lucie as three of the four runs scored came off the bat of Ramirez on a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Ramirez was named the Florida State League Player of the Week last week after going 15-for-28.

Right-handed pitcher Jaison Vilera was making is first start of the 2022 season. Christian Scott, 2021 fifth round draft pick, made his first appearance of the season. His fastball was up to 97 mph during the outing.
