Ex-Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard took a shot at the Mets on Wednesday morning while congratulating current Angels teammate Reid Detmers for throwing a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday.

“This is what a “real” no hitter looks like,” Syndergaard wrote on an Instagram story.

The Mets combined to throw a no-hitter against the Phillies on April 29. Tylor Megill, Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez, Seth Lugo, and Edwin Diaz combined for 27 outs without allowing a hit. It is the second no-hitter in Mets history.

Johan Santana threw the Mets’ only no-hitter prior on June 1, 2021 when he beat the St. Louis Cardinals.

It’s not the first time Syndergaard has gotten his shots in against the Mets and their fans. Throughout the offseason, Syndergaard repeatedly messed with Mets fans on Twitter who called him out for leaving the organization and taking more money with the Angels.

Syndergaard has always been known as a fun and active social media presence. He’ll always have his social media accounts but unlike that group of Mets, he won’t have a no-hitter associated with his name.
