Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reports that the Milwaukee Brewers have acquired Luis Urias and Eric Lauer from the San Diego Padres in exchange for Zach Davies and Trent Grisham.

Jon Morosi of MLB.com first reported a deal between the two clubs that involved Grisham while Jeff Passan of ESPN added that Urias was involved too.

Urias, 22, had been a player of discussion when the Mets were considering dealing Noah Syndergaard. In 2019, the infielder played in 71 games for the Padres and hit .223/.329/.326 with four homers and 25 RBI to give himself a 76 OPS+.

Lauer, 24, made 30 appearances (29 starts) for the Padres in which he had a 4.45 ERA, 4.23 FIP, and 1.396 WHIP with 8.3 K/9 as compared to 3.1 BB/9.

Davies, 26, is the most established player in the deal having made his MLB debut in 2015. In 2019, Davies registered a 3.55 ERA, 4.56 FIP, and 1.290 WHIP with 5.7 K/9 as compared to 2.9 BB/9.

Grisham, 23, was called up after the MLB Trade Deadline this season and hit .231/.328/.410 with six homers and 24 RBI to give himself a 90 OPS+. He is most famous for his error in the NL Wild Card Game against the Washington Nationals.
