Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Houston Astros have acquired Zack Greinke and cash from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post hears that the Diamondbacks will receive Seth Beer, Corbin Martin, J.B. Bukauskas, and Joshua Rojas in return. All four prospects rank on the Astros’ MLB Pipeline top 30 prospects list, with Beer (third), Bukauskas (fourth), and Martin (fifth) ranking much higher than Rojas (22nd).

In addition to that, the Astros have acquired Joe Biagini and Aaron Sanchez from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Greinke, 35, is a six-time All-Star and one-time Cy Young Award winner. He’s in the midst of a very strong season with the Diamondbacks as he is 10-4 with a 2.87 ERA, 0.943 WHIP, 3.15 FIP, and 128 strikeouts in 22 starts (141 innings).

The right-hander is in the fourth year of a six-year, $206.5 million contract that began in 2016. He is making $31.5 million this season and will make $32 million in 2020 and 2021 before hitting the open market.
