MLB commissioner Rob Manfred spoke at the Winter Meetings on Wednesday and told reporters that all 30 teams are set to have extended netting in 2020 well past the dugouts. Some teams will even extend it to each foul pole.

Some teams had already started instituting this as a means for a safer fan experience and many had been calling for all 30 teams to do this, which they are now going to in 2020.

In addition, Manfred talked about the 2020 MLB Draft, which he said would be held in Omaha, Nebraska on June 10. That is notably where the College World Series is played.

The investigation into the Houston Astros’ scandal came up as he talked to reporters too and he Manfred said that the investigation has included looking 76,000 emails and interviewing 60 witnesses so far.

It was reported earlier on Wednesday that the investigation would at least take until the start of the new year.
