Reno 6, Las Vegas 3

Dilson Herrera‘s 7 game multi-hit streak came to an end as he went 0-4 on the night and the 51’s dropped to 6-8. Tyler Pill pitched only 3 innings because of a lengthy rain delay giving up a solo HR for the only damage against him. After the delay Zack Thornton came in and was not good giving up three runs in his inning of work. Thornton has now given up atleast one run in 4 out of last 5 outings and now sports a 7.27 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Cody Satterwhite continued his struggles out of the bullpen as well giving up three walks and two runs in the 7th inning. Cody has now allowed 17 base runners and eight runs in only 6 innings so far this season. Scott Rice threw two scoreless innings and hasn’t allowed a run since April 12th (5 appearances). The 51’s only produced six base runners all night with Johnny Monell leading the way going 1-3 with his 2nd HR, walk and two RBI. Matt Reynolds was 1-4 and is hitting .419 over his last 10 games. Darrell Ceciliani had two hits, RBI and a run scored while Wilfredo Tovar collected the 51’s 5th hit going 1-3 scoring a run. Box Score Las Vegas looks to snap its 3-game losing streak tonight at 9:35 ET against Reno with Rafael Montero starting on just three days rest.

Binghamton vs Erie PPD

Binghamton’s game against Erie was rained out and will be made up on August 25th as a double header. The B’Mets head to New Hampshire tonight to player the Fisher Cats at 6:35 with Rainy Lara on the hill.

Jupiter 8, St. Lucie 2

Kevin McGowan struggled for the Mets giving up eight runs over only four innings of work to take his first loss of the season. Ricky Knapp was great in relief saving the rest of the bullpen by throwing five innings of almost perfect relief only giving up one hit. Michael Conforto has what seems to be an off day for him going 1-4 with a RBI single. Jeff McNeil was the only Met on the night to reach base more than once with his 2B, 3B, and a walk. Champ Stuart was 1-4 and is now only hitting .222 over his last ten games after starting the season off hot. Amed Rosario was 1-4 with his 4th double of the season but saw his season line drop to .255/.296/.333. Box Score Dominic Smith hasn’t played since Saturday because of an illness.

Savannah 9, Rome 5 

Luis Guillorme continued his strong season pacing the Sand Gnats with three hits and three RBI’s raising his average to .325. Second baseman Jean Rodriguez was the other offensive star going 2-5 with a 3B, R, and four RBI on the night. Jean is hitting .342 over his last ten games and has a season line of .304/.319/.435. Wuilmer Beccera was 1-4 with a walk and his first triple of the season and is now hitting .214 early on. Tyler Moore broke his 0-18 to start the season with a leadoff double in the 4th inning and would later score on a John Mora RBI single (2-5). Corey Oswalt fought threw 5.2 rough innings to pick up his 2nd win allowing five runs while striking out seven. Lefty Alberto Baldonado threw two perfect innings with three k’s and stranded two inherited runners. Baldonado has now struck out 13 hitters over eight innings and has allowed only three hits.
