On Thursday, the MLB All-Star Game starters were announced.
After several weeks of voting, the polls closed Thursday afternoon, and at 7 p.m. (EST), the results were announced.
Here are the starters at each position:
National League
- Willson Contreras, C, Chicago Cubs
- Freddie Freeman, 1B, Atlanta Braves
- Ketel Marte, 2B, Arizona Diamondbacks
- Javier Baez, SS, Chicago Cubs
- Nolan Arenado, 3B, Colorado Rockies
- Christian Yelich, OF, Milwaukee Brewers
- Cody Bellinger, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers
- Ronald Acuna, Jr., OF, Atlanta Braves
American League
- Gary Sanchez, C, New York Yankees
- Carlos Santana, 1B, Cleveland Indians
- D.J. LeMahieu, 2B, New York Yankees
- Jorge Polanco, SS, Minnesota Twins
- Alex Bregman, 3B, Houston Astros
- Hunter Pence, DH, Texas Rangers
- Mike Trout, OF, Los Angeles Angels
- George Springer, OF, Houston Astros
- Michael Brantley, OF, Houston Astros
The pitching staffs as well as reserves will be announced on Sunday, June 30 at 5:30 p.m.
No New York Mets were voted in as starters, though with each team guaranteed a player, Pete Alonso or Jeff McNeil are players to watch who may be tabbed.
