Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the New York Mets are scheduled to interview Mike Bell for their managerial opening on Monday. He mentions that there is also at least one mystery candidate in the mix right now as well.

Bell, 44, has been serving as the farm director for the Arizona Diamondbacks and is the younger brother of Cincinnati Reds’ manager, David Bell. He interviewed for both the Texas Rangers’ and Baltimore Orioles’ manager vacancies last offseason.

Heyman notes that Joe Girardi, Derek Shelton, and Carlos Beltran are also getting in-person interviews. We’ve heard Luis Rojas, John Gibbons, Dusty Baker, and Buck Showalter mentioned as possible candidates too.
