michael Cuddyer

Michael Cuddyer finally saw a doctor on Friday night and was diagnosed with tendinitis. He will be in splint for the next two days.

“It’s tendinitis that we have to get calmed down,” Cuddyer said. “I’m going to have a little splint for a day or so, to restrict the mobility to get it to calm down. Hopefully in a couple days it gets back to normal.” (Daily News)

Cuddyer explained that he had been dealing with the pain for about a week and that it continued to progressively worsen with each passing day until it became intolerable.

Doctors also prescribed new anti-inflammatory medication. It looks like he’ll miss the entire series in Miami.

Manager Terry Collins spoke with reporters in Miami on Friday and told him that Michael Cuddyer is not available for tonight’s game due to a sore right wrist.

Cuddyer is unable to close his right hand and told reporters that his grip and range of motion is slim to none.

He will be seeing a doctor today and added that anti-inflammatory medication has not been helping. He has been dealing with this issue for a week.

Meanwhile at the plate, Cuddyer is batting .327/.383/.559 with six extra base hits including two homeruns and eight RBIs in 19 games since returning from the disabled list, and has been one of the hottest hitters on the team.
