As per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the New York Mets have “no plans” to call up current Triple-A Las Vegas first baseman, Peter Alonso “anytime soon”.

In 102 games split between Double-A Binghamton (65 games) and the 51’s (37 games), the 23-year-old slugger is slashing .277/.398/.532 with 24 home runs, 90 runs batted in, and 18 doubles in 361 at-bats.

Since being promoted to Triple-A, Alonso is hitting .220/.329/.468, but is slashing .341/.412/.636 since July 19 (11 games).

DiComo also noted that the Mets do indeed plan on recalling first baseman Dominic Smith “at some point in the coming weeks”.

Smith, 23, hit .186/.219/.329 with a home run and five doubles in 70 at-bats during his most recent stint with the big club (June 12 to July 15).

This season with Vegas, the former first-round draft pick from Los Angeles is slashing .259/.340/.386 with four home runs, thirty RBI, 18 doubles, and 56 strikeouts in 251 at-bats.
