Mike Puma of the New York Posts reports that Jay Bruce will resume hitting after suffering a setback in his rehab on July 10th. Puma also reported that Bruce would see plenty of time at first base.

Originally going on the disabled list on June 19, Bruce has been working on returning from various injuries including plantar fasciitis, right hip soreness, and back issues.

Beuce is hitting just .212/.292/.321 with -5 defensive runs saved in just 458.2 innings in right field.

Hitting a home run last on May 7, only only five doubles since in 115 plate appearances, more power production will be expected from the corner outfielder who signed a three-year, 39 million dollar deal with the Mets last off season. Bruce is hitting just .186/.278/.265 in that span.
