According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports, the Mets and catcher Travis d’Arnaud have avoided arbitration and settled on a one-year, $3.515 million contract.

D’Arnaud, 29, was tendered a contract by New York late last month, despite missing a majority of the 2018 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

The backstop logged just 15 plate appearances before hitting the disabled list, where he lived for the remainder of the season.

With the Mets bringing in catcher Wilson Ramos on a two-year pact, d’Arnaud will likely assume backup duty, unless he is dealt this winter.

The Wasserman client will receive a slight bump in pay from last year when he earned $3.475 million.

D’Arnaud is free agent eligible in 2020.
