Matt Cerone of SNY reports that the Mets are talking to free agent starter, Rick Porcello, and that there is mutual interest in reaching an agreement.

Porcello, 30, is coming off a season in which he registered a 5.52 ERA, 4.76 FIP, and 1.394 WHIP with 7.4 K/9 as compared to 2.3 BB/9 for the Boston Red Sox. He’s been notably durable throughout his career having made 32 or more starts in four consecutive seasons.

Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors projected the New Jersey native to get a one-year, $11 million contract at the beginning of the offseason.
