The Mets have selected Zach Greene, a right-handed pitcher from the Yankees in the 2022 MLB Rule 5 Draft. Greene pitched in AAA in 2022, and had a 3.42 ERA in 68.1 IP. Greene also compiled 12.64 K/9 for the Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders and allowed hitters to hit only .199 off of him last season. Greene, 26, was an eighth-round draft pick by the Yankees in 2019 out of South Alabama.

The Mets did not lose any players in the MLB portion of the Rule 5 draft, including outfielder Jake Mangum, who could be a candidate for a bench role with the team in 2023.

In the minor league portion of the draft, the Mets selected several players, including RHP Wilkin Ramos, INF Jonathan Araúz, OF Agustin Ruiz, and INF Mateo Gil. They also lost one player, RHP Trey Cobb.
