Mets’ fans who were looking forward to returning to Citi Field will have to wait another day. The Mets announced on Wednesday that Thursday’s home opener against the Marlins would be delayed until Friday at 1:10 p.m. due to forecasted rain. The Mets originally had an off day planned for Friday, so the team will not have to play a double-header.

The team stated that fans who originally had tickets for Thursday’s game would be able to use them for the rescheduled game on Friday afternoon.

Tylor Megill, who was slated to start on Thursday, will remain the team’s starter on Friday, which would push Kodai Senga‘s home debut to Saturday.

The Mets are coming off of a series sweep in Milwaukee that dropped them to 3-4 on the season. They took three of four against the Marlins in Miami in the opening series of the season. Miami was slated to start Edward Cabrera on Thursday but have not yet announced if that will remain the case for Friday.
