From London, before the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals play two games this weekend, Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred announced that the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies will play two games in London in 2024. The games will be on June 8 and June 9. It will be the third series in London by MLB teams, following the one this season and the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees in 2019. All three series have been played at London Stadium.

“Alex and I are thrilled the Mets will play in the MLB 2024 London Series,” Mets owner Steve Cohen said in a statement. “Interest in baseball is growing all over the world and to bring the Mets ‘never-say-die’ attitude to sports fans in London is a tremendous honor. Our Queens family is ready to show London a great time with exciting baseball and amazing experiences that create new fans and build the Mets community throughout the United Kingdom.”

The Mets have previously played regular season games in Mexico, Japan, and Puerto Rico.

Manfred also said the plan was for MLB to play a game in Paris in 2025.
