The Mets are deep into trade talks on a deal for Indians star shortstop Francisco Lindor, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Lindor has produced a .285/.346/.488 slash line over his six seasons with Cleveland, along with 28.9 fWAR. He brings well above-average offense from the shortstop position and elite defense.

Passan also reported that Andres Gimenez will be part of the deal, assuming that is completed as expected. Anthony DiComo of MLB added that pitching prospect Josh Wolf is part of the deal as well.

Outfield prospect Isaiah Greene, who was the Mets’ second-round pick last summer, is also said to be part of the package, said Kiley McDaniel of FanGraphs.

Joanthan Mayo of MLB added that Amed Rosario, the Mets’ current starting shortstop, is heading to the Indians as well.

Mark Feinsand of MLB reported that the Mets will also be getting Carlos Carrasco from the Indians in the Lindor trade.

Shortly after, the Mets officially announced that the deal is complete, and that they have acquired Lindor and Carrasco.
