It was a rough night for hitters in the Mets minor leagues but Mark Vientos did have two hits on the night for Triple-A Syracuse.

The Syracuse Mets had only three hits and walked just once on the night. Álvarez, the Mets’ top prospect, has started his Triple-A career by going 2-for-20 with eight strikeouts.

It’s been a mixed bag of results for Szapucki since being lit up in the big leagues, but he was terrific on Tuesday night and didn’t allow a run until the sixth inning. Medina gave up home runs to Willians Astudillo and JJ Bleday.

Mauricio had not played in a game since July 3, and he entered this one late as a pinch hitter. The Rumble Ponies echoed the Syracuse offense by collecting three hits and one walk.

  • RHP Jesus Vargas (7.53 ERA) 7.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R (2 ER), 2 BB, 3 K

It was the longest outing of the season for the 23-year-old Vargas and his best in quite some time.

High-A: Brooklyn (38-44) 6, Greensboro (34-46) 5 Box Score

Both Consuegra and Ramirez have struggled since their recent promotions from Low-A St. Lucie. Peroza hit his fourth home run of the season, as did catcher Jose Mena.

  • LHP Nick Zwack (1.58 ERA in Brooklyn) 5.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
  • RHP Dylan Hall (1.04 ERA in Brooklyn) 2 IP, 2 H, ER, 0 BB, 5 K

Zwack, the Mets 17th round pick last year, continued his tremendous stretch for Brooklyn with another solid outing. The left-hander had five scoreless innings before running into trouble in the sixth inning including an RBI double off the bat of former Mets farmhand Endy Rodriguez. Zwack has been up to 94 mph with his fastball and has a ridiculous 79 strikeouts compared to only 14 walks.

Complex League: FCL Mets (16-10) 4, FCL Cardinals (11-14) 1 F/7 Box Score

The 18-year-old Rodriguez stole five bases in a game earlier in the week. While he’s not walking much (5 times), he’s also not striking out much (7 times) as well. At only 18, Rodriguez is having a strong start to his stateside career and a name I heard excelled during spring camp as well.

Left-hander Felipe De La Cruz didn’t allow an earned run in his five innings as the starter.

  • CF Simon Juan 1-for-2, BB, SB (9), .220/.295/.340

Juan, the Mets top international signing from this year, has struggled to start his career but has managed to steal nine bases without being caught. The 17-year-old (Happy Birthday!), does have a .333 OBP since his brutal 1-for-17 start.

Right-hander Eris Albino walked six and allowed one run in 2 1/3 innings but most notably it was mentioned by FanGraphs that the youngster has been up to 99 mph this year.
