Acuña was playing his third game since coming over in the Max Scherzer trade and Jackson was making his Mets system debut after being traded for Dominic Leone. Schwartz is 10-for-12 with three doubles to begin August.

Stuart needed only 87 pitches to get through seven innings and lower his Minor League Baseball best ERA to 1.70 for the season. Stuart was second on the night in Double-A with 18 whiffs.

Thomas, signed out of Indy ball in June, has a ridiculous 0.50 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 16 innings with Binghamton.

Williams now has 75 walks in 82 games this season and his OBP is up to .428. What a Mets system debut for Ryan Clifford, half of the return for Justin Verlander. Clifford clobbered a home run to right field through the wind in his first at-bat in the organization. The left-handed power hitter just turned 20 years old last month.

Stanley Consuegra hit his 12th home run of the season for Brooklyn and Jacob Reimer reached base twice.

The 21-year-old Ramirez was making his Brooklyn debut and he entered the ninth inning have allowed only one run in the game.

Low-A: St. Lucie 4, Daytona 3, Box Score

Center fielder Nick Morabito went 1-for-5 in the game. Second baseman Jefrey De Los Santos and catcher Jose Hernandez both reached base three times in the game for St. Lucie.

Relievers Jimmy Loper (2 1/3 innings) and Elliot Johnstone (1 inning) combined to close out the St. Lucie win with scoreless relief.

Dominican Summer League: Mets Blue 4, Mets Orange 1, Box Score

Rainer Reyes and Reniel Diaz homered in the game for the Mets. Rodriguez was making his Mets debut after coming over from the Diamondbacks for Tommy Pham

The 6’7” Diaz has 48 strikeouts in 37 innings this season.
