- Wilfredo Tovar, SS: 2-for-4, R, SO, .172/.279/.190
Despite dropping the 5-3 decision, the Syracuse offense performed well on Friday night as it totaled 11 hits compared to six from Worcester. However, the Mets had a difficult time responding to the Red Sox down the stretch as Worcester outscored Syracuse 4-1 in the last two innings.
Four different Mets garnered two hits on the night, including Drew Ferguson with an RBI in the eighth.
- Tylor Megill, RHP: 5.1 IP, 2 H, R, ER, 2 BB, 7 K, HR, 2.89 ERA
- Sean Reid-Foley, RHP: 1.2 IP, 2 K, 0.00 ERA
Tylor Megill had a stellar start for Syracuse as he didn’t allow a hit until the fourth inning and the only run that he gave up was a solo homer. A poor showing from righty Stephen Nogosek played a part in the Syracuse loss as he allowed four runs in his 1.2 innings of work.
AA: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (11-22) 5, Bowie Baysox (23-9) 4
- Hayden Senger, C: 2-for-4, R, SO, .321/.357/.564
- Carlos Cortes, LF: 2-for-5, 2 SO, .298/.362/.570
A 3-run homer from Wagner Lagrange and a walk-off RBI single from Jake Mangum lifted the Rumble Ponies to a 5-4 victory over the Baysox at Mirabito Stadium. Binghamton garnered five of its eight hits on Friday night in the ninth inning.
Will Toffey also hit a solo shot in the second inning.
- Cole Gordon, RHP: 5.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 4.30 ERA
- Oscar De La Cruz, RHP: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 14.09 ERA
After Oscar De La Cruz had a tough time in the eighth, lefty Andrew Mitchell came in and had a stellar closing outing as he earned the win. Mitchell allowed only one hit in 1.1 innings of work, which gave the Ponies offense the opportunity to create a comeback in the ninth.
A+: Hudson Valley Renegades (18-14) 8, Brooklyn Cyclones (10-21) 0
- Cody Bohanek, LF: 1-for-3, BB, SO, .214/.362/.357
- Francisco Álvarez, DH: 0-for-3, 2 SO, .326/.462/.533
There wasn’t much going for the Brooklyn bats as the Cyclones were shutout and only accounted for two hits in an 8-0 loss to Hudson Valley. The Cyclones didn’t get their first hit in the ballgame until the sixth when Antoine Duplantis hit a line-drive single.
Top prospect Francisco Álvarez and Brett Baty couldn’t reach base on Friday night, but Ronny Mauricio reached on a walk in the first.
- Andrew Edwards, LHP: 2.0 IP, BB, 4 K, 2.40 ERA
- Mitch Ragan, RHP: 1.0 IP, BB, K, 1.80 ERA
Besides a subpar showing from righty Jaison Vilera, who allowed seven runs in 3.2 innings, the Cyclones pitching staff did a decent job on the mound. Andrew Edwards and Mitch Ragan combined for five strikeouts and allowed no hits in the final three innings of the game.
However, Edwards and Ragan did not get any run support to mount a comeback in the last few innings.
A: St. Lucie Mets (20-14) 5, Palm Beach Cardinals (9-25) 3

Two home runs from Brandon McIlwain lifted St. Lucie over the Palm Beach Cardinals on Friday night at Clover Park. McIlwain’s homers included a solo shot in the third to put the Mets on the board and a 3-run homer in the seventh to ultimately give St. Lucie the victory.
Joe Suozzi also knocked in a run in the third with an RBI single.
- Junior Santos, RHP: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 4 K, 4.88 ERA
- Reyson Santos, RHP: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, HR, 9.58 ERA
