Triple-A

Buffalo Bisons (31-37) 10, Syracuse Mets (27-40) 6

BOX SCORE

On the night where most of the attention was around who was making his debut on the mound for Syracuse, Mauricio stole the show once again as he had his second four-hit game of the year and his two-run home run in the top of the ninth was his third of the series.

On a non-Mauricio note, Voit drew four walks, which gives him 10 in the last four games (two-plus walks in each game). Mendick had three hits and got the scoring started with an RBI double in the second.

  • RHP Mike Vasil (0-1, 18.00 ERA): 3 IP, 6 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 4 K (47 of 70 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Eric Orze (6.91 ERA): 2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 K, Balk, HBP
  • LHP Nate Lavender (2.84): 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, K
  • RHP Grant Hartwig (4.21): 1 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 3 K

Outside of allowing a leadoff solo home run in the second, Vasil had a good first three innings in his Triple-A debut. Then, in the fourth inning things unraveled.

Buffalo got the first five batters to reach base before the right-hander was pulled from the game. Out of the seven hits he allowed, three of them went for extra bases.
