Syracuse only needed one run to win their third consecutive game in Rochester on Sunday. Their lone run came on an RBI bunt single by Nick Meyer in the fifth inning. He finished 3-for-4 with a double. Sebastian Elizalde was 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base. David Thompson was 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout. Quinn Brodey stole his sixth base of the year, bringing him to a solid 6-for-7 on steal attempts this season.

Jerad Eickhoff pitched wonderfully, bringing his season ERA down below four. His strikeout rate and walk rate are now 23.9% and 6.0%, respectively. Corey Oswalt pitched his third game of the year and secured a nine-out save, lowering his season ERA to a measly 1.59. His strikeout rate and walk rate now sit at 33.3% and 4.8%, respectively.

The St. Lucie Mets crushed the Daytona Tortugas on Sunday. As a team, they scored 15 runs while collecting six hits and 18 (!) walks. Brandon McIlwain hit his first home run of the year and Shervyen Newton hit his second. Newton also struck out twice and was St. Lucie’s only starting player who didn’t draw a walk. Jaylen Palmer drew four walks and stole his fourth base of the year, bringing him to 4-for-5 on steal attempts. Palmer played third base. He has been alternating between third base, second base, and center field.
