The Binghamton Rumble Ponies won behind an amazing start from Dominic Hamel, who took the win against a lineup filled with top prospects. The St. Lucie Mets were busy on the basepaths and stole 8 bases on the day. The Ronny Mauricio watch is officially over as well, as the Mets’ top prospect made his major league debut on Friday.

Triple-A: Lehigh Valley IronPigs 5, Syracuse Mets 1, Box Score

Jaylen Palmer hit his first AAA home run in his second game, but Syracuse only managed six total baserunners. Shortstop Wyatt Young had two hits on the day. Cortes, who was scorching hot in August, went o-for-4 with a strikeout.

Mike Vasil had a poor outing, failing to get out of the second inning while getting hit hard. Matt Minnick had a great first outing at AAA.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies 6, Harrisburg Senators 5 Box Score

The Rumble Ponies’ offense blew the game open in the seventh inning, scoring five runs. Matt O’Neill hit a solo home run and Kevin Parada got his second RBI in as many days. Luisangel Acuña is heating up in Double-A and recorded two hits.

Dominic Hamel stifled the Senators’ lineup featuring three top-100 prospects, but the bullpen struggled allowing five runs in the eighth. Junior Santos stopped the bleeding and earned the save.

High-A: Greenville Drive 3, Brooklyn Cyclones 0, Box Score

After yesterday’s doubleheader, the Cyclones came out flat, managing five singles on the day. William Lugo went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts. Jett Williams walked — shocker.

Layonel Ovalles had a great first outing for the Cyclones, striking out six batters in 5 2/3 innings pitched. He allowed seven hits but only allowed one run.

The Cyclones are tied with Jersey Shore right now for a playoff spot.

Low-A: Tampa Tarpons, 7, St. Lucie Mets, 5 Box Score

The St. Lucie offense lost the lead in the fourth, and despite scoring in the sixth and eighth innings, finished short. They stole eight bases and were caught 3 times, with Yohairo Cuevas stealing two bases and getting caught attempting to steal home.

Two-way player Nolan McLean made his first start and had a solid outing. His only blemish was a walk that scored when he was relieved by Angel Alfonseca. Ben Simon, the Mets 2023 13th-round pick had a solid outing as well.
