Mauricio is having his worst month of the season with a .720 OPS and 13 strikeouts in 14 June games. Vientos returned to the Syracuse lineup after being optioned by the Mets and didn’t miss a beat. The 32-year-old Ortega made his Mets system debut in style with a big game that included the game-winning hit in the ninth inning. Ortega was recently signed to a minor league deal by the Mets and had 28 doubles and 18 home runs in the big leagues over the previous two seasons for the Cubs. Jonathan Araúz hit his eighth home run of the season for Syracuse.

Ritter leads the Mets minor leagues with 17 home runs, including 13 in his last 22 games.

It was the best start Peterson’s had in June and his second straight outing of pitching six innings.

Double-A: Binghamton (33-31) 4, Akron (32-32) 2, Box Score

Though Binghamton won the game, they got bad news as outfielder Matt Rudick was placed on the 7-day injured list. Rudick is hitting .289/.435/.478 this season with 11 doubles, nine home runs, 31 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases.

Scott backed up his impressive first start in Double-A of six innings of one-run ball last week with another gem on Wednesday night. The 6 2/3 innings are a new career-high for s start. The 24-year-old has 47 strikeout to 6 walk ratio this season in 38 1/3 innings and has only allowed 25 hits during that span. Scott is a fastball (mid-90s, top 98 mph), slider, and changeup pitcher.

High-A: Hudson Valley (39-26) 8, Brooklyn (27-37) 3, Box Score 

The 21-year-old Parada is starting to heat up with a .895 OPS and eight RBIs over his last 11 games.

The 22-year-old Colina gave the Cyclones much-needed length after starter Jeffrey Colon was knocked out in the first inning.

Low-A: Jupiter (34-30) 3, St. Lucie (23-40) 2, Box Score

Outfielder Stanley Consuegra went 0-for-3 with a walk in his first rehab game with St. Lucie. He will return to High-A Brooklyn when healthy.

SRF was making his second rehab appearance coming off TJS and was up to 96 mph with his fastball. The 20-year-old Ovalles has a 1.10 ERA over his last 16 1/3 innings for St. Lucie.

Low-A: Jupiter (35-30) 17, St. Lucie (23-41) 0, Box Score

The 19-year-old Reimer is slashing .377/.480/.574 with eight extra-base hits and 13 RBIs in 14 June games.

Not sure I need to elaborate on the pitching staff that allowed 17 runs in six innings.

The 19-year-old Cuevas is tied for seventh in the FCL with his 167 wRC+.
