It was a bounce-back outing for top prospect Brandon Sproat, who fired seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts while allowing just five baserunners. Meanwhile, Francisco Alvarez also appeared in another rehab game with Triple-A Syracuse. He went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts as their starting designated hitter.

Hernández and Clifford drove in the only two runs for Syracuse, with Hernández supplying the big swing on a solo homer. Jett Williams was scratched late after being penciled in at second base, and Carson Benge also sat out.
It was confirmed after that Williams had a sore wrist.

Sproat was dominant against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, generating 14 whiffs on 91 pitches. He landed 58 for strikes and hit 99 mph on the radar gun.

Vargas and Henriquez each ripped triples into the right-center gap. Henriquez also drew two walks in a strong High-A debut, while Houck reached base twice on walks and has looked more comfortable at the plate in August (.773 OPS) after a rough July (.415 OPS).
