The 51’s have now lost their last 7 games and have scored just seven runs over that span. Zack Thornton threw a scoreless 6th and has now thrown 9.1 innings without allowing a run. Chase Bradford pitched a scoreless inning while Jon Velasquez gave up two unearned runs in his inning of work.

The bats were quiet for Las Vegas who could only manage four hits and two walks while having only one AB all night with a runner in scoring position. Johnny Monell was the offensive bright spot for the 51’s going 2-3 with a walk. Matt Reynolds and Travis Taijeron collected the other two hits. T.J. Vic Black pitched the 7th inning getting a groundout to 2B, flyout to RF, and then a strikeout swinging on a 96 MPH fastball. He also hit 95 MPH on the gun and had a good curveball despite having 2 full counts (fairly normal for Black who is a little wild).

Conforto is now 3-10 with four walks and four RBI’s in his first 3 games for the B’Mets. Amed Rosario had an off night going 0-3 and was the only Met not to reach base on the night.

Robert Whalen gave up a season high four runs in just four innings on six hits and an uncharacteristic five walks.
