Yesterday, the Mets started up the cuts process with six cuts that were highlighted by Tim Tebow.

This morning the team decided to cut another seven players from MLB camp. Those seven players were David Thompson, Zach Borenstein, Kevin Kaczmarski, Tyler Bashlor, Chris Flexen, Peter Alonso, and Patrick Mazeika.

None of those cuts are particularly surprising, but as Flexen spent time in the majors last year. However, he was definitely not effective with a 7.88 ERA.

He was actually having a solid spring, though, as he allowed only one run in five innings of work.

Meanwhile, Thomspon was raking in camp with a .348 average. The third baseman has never played above double-A so he was destined to be sent down sooner or later.

The Mets Spring Training roster has been trimmed down to 44 players.
