Mets also recalled right-handed reliever Paul Sewald, and put outfield Michael Conforto on the 7-day concussion injured list.

During the offseason, Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen traded RHP Bobby Wahl, RHP Adam Hill, and infielder Felix Valerio to the Brewers for Broxton.

Broxton is out of options and has been previously outrighted, meaning he can refuse a minor league assignment if he clears waivers. The 29-year-old was hitting .143/.208/.163 and posted a -0.6 WAR in 34 games for the Mets, and recently made comments about his struggles.
