New York Mets v Miami Marlins

The Mets announced they have avoided arbitration with reliever Bobby Parnell and agreed to a contract for the 2015 season. Adam Rubin reports that Parnell will get the same $3.7 million he earned last season.

Parnell, 30, underwent Tommy John surgery last April and is expected to return to action in mid April or early May according to Sandy Alderson.

Terry Collins has said repeatedly this offseason, that Parnell will resume his role as the Mets closer once he is activated.

Other players who are due arbitration include Daniel Murphy ($8.1M in 2014), Dillon Gee ($4.99M), Lucas Duda ($4.25M), Jenrry Mejia ($2.5M) and Ruben Tejada ($1.7M).
