According to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com, the Mets and Royals are in discussion about a potential multi-player trade that could include:

Gil Meche (0-44, 6.66), Kyle Farnsworth and Jose Guillen from the Royals, and Oliver Perez, Jeff Francoeur and Luis Castillo from the Mets.

Basically, it looks like a swap of bad contracts for both teams, and players that are all slumping and could use a change of scenery. Nothing to get too excited about.

However, I do feel the Mets are getting the best player in the deal in Kyle Farnsworth who is 3-0 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.129 WHIP in 42.1 innings pitched.

Rosenthal points out that many of the players match up well regarding their contracts. Which must be super appealing to the Mets right?
