The Mets have added Triple-A starting pitcher Collin McHugh to their taxi squad for Thursday in the event Johan Santana is unable to make his scheduled start.
The Mets have received the results of the MRI on Johan Santana’s back, but said they will not announce the results until Wednesday morning.
It looks like Collin gets the nod over Mejia if the news on Santana is bad…

Adam Rubin of ESPN New York says it’s possible RHP Jenrry Mejia could make Thursday’s start instead of Johan Santana.
Rumblings suggest Jenrry Mejia may make Johan Santana’s next start, with the Mets sticking to a six-man rotation.
After deciding that Santana would make his next start on Thursday, the Mets announced that Santana has a stiff back. He will have an MRI today. So far no additional info on the results.
Mejia last pitched Friday, so proper rest would not be an issue. Santana was due to undergo an MRI on his ailing back Tuesday.
Mejia is 3-2 with a 2.75 ERA in 23 games and seven starts this season at Buffalo. As a starter Mejia has gone 2-1 with a 1.05 ERA in seven starts.
Mejia last appeared in the majors in 2010, when he made three September starts after working earlier in that season as a reliever. He underwent Tommy John surgery on May 16, 2011.
Collin McHugh is another option being discussed.
25-year-old Collin McHugh is in his fifth season as a professional pitcher and his first at the Triple-A level. He began the 2012 season with Double-A Binghamton but was promoted in June after posting a 2.41 ERA through his first 12 starts.
With Buffalo, McHugh has a 3.34 ERA and a 1.217 WHIP in 12 starts.
