Before the New York Mets game on Thursday afternoon against the St. Louis Cardinals they announced left-handed reliever Josh Smoker has been activated from the 10-day disabled list and right-handed reliever Neil Ramirez has been designated for assignment.

Smoker allowed two runs in 4.1 rehab innings between the St. Lucie Mets and Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

He has a 7.45 ERA and 1.86 WHIP in 29 big league innings this year for the Mets. He did have 36 strikeouts in those 29 innings but also walked 17 batters.

Ramirez was signed to a major league deal on May 16. He struggled mightily with the Mets, in 21 innings he had a 6.43 ERA, 1.714 WHIP and walked 17 batters.
