The Mets activated infielder Andres Gimenez and outfielder Jake Marisnick from the injured list before Game 1 of their doubleheader against the Yankees on Friday.

Marisnick is batting eighth and playing center field in his return. The former Astro had been on the IL since late July with a hamstring strain. The defensive specialist is 1-for-4 with a strikeout in five games this year.

The 21-year-old Gimenez is not in the starting lineup for the first game. He’s hitting .254/.290/.339 with two triples, six stolen bases, and has flashed the leather all over the infield.

For the corresponding moves, the Mets have put right-handed pitcher Corey Oswalt on the injured list and designated outfielder Juan Lagares for assignment.

In player pool news, the Mets have added prospects Mark Vientos and Brett Baty to the 60-player pool. Both players are in the Mets top 10 prospects and play third base.
