Our own Jacob Resnick tweeted on Friday morning that the Mets have added top third base prospect Brett Baty to their 60-player pool.

Baty, 20, was the Mets first round pick (12th overall) in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. The left-hitter slashed .238/.368/.452 with 16 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 33 RBIs across three levels in his first pro season.

The Texas native finished the 2019 playing for the New York Penn-League champion Brooklyn Cyclones.

Baty joins catcher Francisco Alvarez, right-handed pitcher Matthew Allan, and shortstop Ronny Mauricio as Mets top 10 prospects added to the player pool in August.

MLB Pipeline had Baty as their No. 93 prospect in baseball prior to the season.
