The Mets have acquired outfielder Bubba Bell from the Indians for cash considerations.
The Indians had only aquired Bell in like manner from the Red Sox on March 31.
Bell, 28, spent last season at AAA Pawtucket, where he hit .293 with 17 doubles, 6 home runs and 49 RBIs in 104 games. He was hitting .292 in eight games this season for the Indians Triple-A affiliate.
He owns a career minor league average of .292, and has been with the Red Sox his entire six-year professional career since 2005 after being drafted by Boston in the 39th round of the 2005 draft out of Nicholls State.
Bell has been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo where he will provide some depth as Lucas Duda is still on the mend and F-Mart has been called up.
