Jenrry Mejia was without pain while warming up prior to Saturday’s game against the Padres, the Mets closer told MMO.

Mejia said that although he has not fully healed just yet, he would be ready if manager Terry Collins were to need him today.

“I want to see if tomorrow I will feel 100 percent,” Mejia said. “I want to be 100 percent to be in the game.”

“If they want to pitch me today, I’ll be there,” he added later.

Collins had nothing new to add in his pre-game press conference today, however; stated Friday night that Mejia would miss “another day or so” before returning to action due to some swelling. Mejia is expected to miss the remainder of the weekend.

Mejia came out for his second inning of relief Thursday night before being removed after experiencing discomfort in his lower back during his warm-up pitches. The 24-year-old underwent an MRI on Friday and participated in some light jogging and stretches during batting practice this afternoon.

Mejia is 1-3 with a 3.14 ERA in 15 games as a reliever this season.
