KRod francisco rodriguez

According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Miami Marlins have reached out to agent Scott Boras regarding free agent closer Francisco Rodriguez. Nothing is imminent he says, but the club could circle back to K-Rod at some point as they look to bolster their bullpen.

Marlins GM Dan Jennings admitted to Jim Bowden on ESPN Radio, that he is considering Rodriguez as well as Rafael Soriano as he seeks to add a quality arm to deepen an already formidable bullpen.

Rodriguez, 33, is considered to be the top reliever left on the market. K-Rod saved 44 games last season with a league-high 66 games finished. An All Star in 2014, the fiery closer posted a 3.04 ERA, 0.985 WHIP with 73 strikeouts, and only 18 walks in 68 innings for the Brewers.
