dee-gordon

The Marlins and Dodgers completed a blockbuster six-player deal that sends shortstop Dee Gordon and RHP Dan Haren to Miami in exchange for LHP Andrew Heaney, second baseman Enrique Hernandez, RHP Chris Hatcher and catcher Austin Barnes.

What started out as a simple Gordon for Heaney swap as first mentioned by ESPN’s Buster Olney, turned into one complicated, whopper of a deal.

Gordon hit .289 with 12 home runs, 34 RBI and a .326 on-base percentage in 2014 and was named an All-Star. He led the majors with 64 stolen bases and 12 triples, and was caught stealing 19 times.

Heaney, 23, made his major-league debut in June and was the No. 9 pick by the Marlins in 2012. He went 0-3 with a 5.83 ERA in seven games (five starts) for Miami this season, but posted a 2.77 ERA with 262 strikeouts in 259.2 innings over three minor league seasons.

The Mets never had any interest in Gordon.
