According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Marlins have acquired starter Mat Latos from the Reds. Latos owns a career 3.34 ERA and a 60-45 won-loss record.

The Reds will receive two prospects, Chad Wallach and Anthony DeSclafani, in the trade according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. Wallach batted .321 with seven home runs in Single-A this year, and DeSclafani posted a 3.79 ERA in 102 innings between AA and AAA.

This is the second big move the Marlins have made during the winter meetings. Yesterday, they acquired Dee Gordon and Dan Haren in a six player blockbuster trade with the Dodgers.

With Gordon and now Latos, the Marlins look to be improving.  Latos gives the Marlins a solid top of the rotation arm, and Gordon provides them with a potential spark plug at the top of their lineup.
