Mets veteran infielder Jed Lowrie has suffered a setback while rehabbing a knee capsule sprain, he is likely to miss a few weeks with a Grade 1 hamstring strain according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Lowrie was on a rehab assignment for the Triple-A Syracuse Mets, but will now head back to Port St. Lucie. He was 4-for-24 with a homer in six games for Syracuse after going 1-for-7 with the Class-A St. Lucie Mets to begin his rehab.

The switch-hitter signed a two-year, $20 million deal this offseason to provide the Mets infield depth at multiple positions.

Lowrie will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
