More Of The Same Next Year!

Yesterday on his twitter Sports Illustrated’s Jon Heyman posted the following: “minaya, manuel have been told by mets boss jeff wilpon they wont be fired over this painful season.” This organization continues to amaze me. The past 2 seasons have ended with the Mets missing the post season by 1 game, losing that important 1 game the last day of the season.  The Wilpons decide...

Johan And Then What?

There has been so much talk this season about the injuries to three of the four offensive guys, that the state of the Mets starting pitching has gone virtually unnoticed. Until now. The only damage that was done came in the bottom of the fourth when...

Mets DL Fernando Nieve, Call Up Cory Sullivan

The Mets have placed starting pitcher Fernando Nieve on the disabled list with a strained right quadricep muscle. Nieve hurt himself while running to first base in Sunday’s game against the Braves, and he pulled up lame. He had to be carted off the field.  I’m a little surprised that the Mets opted to replace him with outfielder Cory Sullivan who was promored from AAA-Buffalo....
