Jorge Polanco homered in his rehab appearance in a Syracuse loss, Dedniel Núñez pitched a scoreless inning in his continued rehab with Binghamton, Jose Chirinos was hit hard in a Brooklyn loss and Joel Lara struck out seven batters in relief in a St. Lucie loss.

Triple-A

Syracuse Mets (42-42) 5, Worcester Red Sox (40-40) 7

BOX SCORE

With two Mets rehabbing and the trading deadline looming, it will be interesting in Flushing in August. Clifford continues his forgettable 2026 season, striking out 120 times in 290 at-bats and seeing his usually good plate discipline and his power numbers drop, sporting a .379 SLG.

  • RHP Jonah Tong (5.90 ERA) 5 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 2 HR allowed (47 of 87 pitches for strikes)
  • LHP Nate Lavender (4.03 ERA) 2 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 1 HR allowed
  • RHP Ryan Lambert (6.16 ERA) 1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 HR allowed

Jonah Tong has seen his strikeout numbers collapse since an eight-strikeout appearance on May 8, only notching over five strikeouts once in his last nine starts. He has allowed 13 home runs in 61 innings, but with the current state of the Mets’ rotation and his limited major league experience, he may be the next call-up.

High-A

Brooklyn Cyclones (32-45) 4, Frederick Keys (47-29) 9

BOX SCORE

Most of the regulars had the day off on Thursday, and the Cyclones started five players with batting averages at .200 or lower. Three errors did not help their efforts to win. Daiverson Gutierrez went 0-for-2 with a run scored and two walks. Gutierrez continues to show a good eye at the plate and hopefully will start turning more of his doubles into home runs.

  • RHP Jose Chirinos (5.46 ERA) 3 2/3 IP, 7 H, 5 R (4 ER), 2 BB, 7 K, 1 HR allowed (47 of 72 pitches for strikes)

Jose Chirinos struck out seven, but struggled with the Keys lineup featuring three top draft picks in Ike Irish, Wehiwa Aloy and Vance Honeycutt.

Low-A

St. Lucie Mets (35-41) 5, Tampa Tarpons (44-34) 7

BOX SCORE

  • 2B/SS Elian Peña1-for-4, 1 R, SB (25), 2 K (.749 OPS)
  • DH Trey Snyder – 2-for-4, 2B, 1 R, 1 RBI (11), 1 K (.599 OPS)
  • CF Simon Juan – 2-for-4, 1 R, HR (6) 2 RBI (30), 1 K (.559 OPS)

St. Lucie went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Jeremy Rodriguez has struggled all season, with only four of his 27 hits going for extra bases. Julio Zayas has quietly been having a promising season, playing all over the field adding to his versatility.

  • RHP Joel Lara (5.48 ERA) 4 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K

Joel Lara had another good outing, striking out seven batters with some wildness as shown by his two walks and one wild pitch. 2025 Mets draft pick Zack Mack was saddled with the blown save/loss combination after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits.
