curtis Granderson

Despite the Mets devastating 8-7 loss to the Padres at Citi Field, Curtis Granderson had one of his best games of his Mets’ career.

He went 2-for-4 at the plate with a three run home run in the 5th inning. He also made three outstanding catches in right field.

Granderson is quietly enjoying a successful year after an underwhelming first season in New York. With his recent hot streak, he’s up to 16 home runs and is inching closer towards an .800 OPS. He has reached base in 14 consecutive games, and he is batting .296 in this span.

It’s great to see Granderson silence his critics, who prematurely labeled him as a bust. He’s been one of the main reasons why the Mets remain in the thick of the playoff race as he provides the team with much needed power and veteran leadership.

The four year $60 million dollar contract he signed two winters ago is now starting to look like a great deal.
