At the dish, Cole Mathis went 1-for-4 with a walk as the first baseman and his OPS is sitting at .580. Playing third base, Boston Baro went 1-for-4 with a double and his current OPS is .814.

Girton is up to 4 2/3 scoreless innings this fall, while Lambert has five scoreless and hitless innings with seven strikeouts. Lambert also threw the hardest pitch of the game at 98.7 mph.

Mets prospect Calvin Ziegler didn’t fare as well. The right-hander allowed five runs on two hits and two walks in one inning of work. He’s now allowed 10 runs and walked seven batters in four innings during AFL time.

Winter Ball

Right-hander Joander Suarez pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout. He’s now made four appearances (5.79 ERA) in the Venezuelan Winter League after missing most of the regular season with an injury.

Infield prospect Marco Vargas went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, a walk and his fourth stolen bases. The 21-year-old is hitting .237/.293/. 345 in 11 Mexican League games.

Luis Torrens went 0-for-4 on the night as the designated hitter for the Navegantes del Magallanes. He’s now 2-for-14 with two games as the DH and two at first base.

In other Mets catcher news, Francisco Alvarez has been added to the Magallanes roster for this week. Mets relief prospect Saul García has also been added to the roster with Torrens and Alvarez.
